Marshall Russell

Marshall Russell died at 11:40 am today at his home, 324 south Second street, following an illness of one year.

His age was 64 years, four months and 22 days.

Mr. Russell had been in critical condition for the past two months.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Pulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bird Green officiating, and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call at any time after 10 am Saturday.

Mr. Russell was born March 12, 1886 in Bluford, the son of James and Martha (Jackson) Russell.

On January 23, 1909 he was married to Ethel Pigg, who survives.

Mr. Russell had been an employee of the Mt. Vernon Car Mfg. Co. since 1913 and was a member of the B. R. C. of A.

He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Norville, at home, and Ralph, of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Mrs. Fay Crowley, Mrs. Bill Hicks, Mrs. Martha Chamberlain, and Mrs. Alma Tapp, all of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Lena Swoffard of Christopher; two brothers, Charles Russell of Utica, Ill. and Oscar Russell of Christopher; and eight grandchildren.
