Floyd Robison, 56, of Mt. Vernon, died 9:40 p.m. Jan. 7, 2006, at Nature Trail Health Care in Mt. Vernon.

He was a Correctional Officer for the State of Illinois Department of Corrections until he became unable to work.

Born Aug. 22, 1950, in Franklin County, he was a son of Floyd Herbert Robison and Lillian (Fulks) Robison.

He married Roseanna "Rosie" Peetoom on March 15, 2006, in Mt. Vernon.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Victor Peetoom and Mr. Randy Sells officiating. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Robison of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Floyd James Robison and wife Jennifer of Pana and Ronald Robison and wife Melinda of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Jaeann Kampfl and husband Matthew of Springfield; a sister, Nancy Porok of Richmond, VA, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Floyd was a member of Central Christian Church and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the National Guard.
