James Henry Robertson

James Henry Robertson, 89 years old, passed away Sunday night, March 31st, following an illness of several days duration. The immediate cause of his death being paralysis; he having suffered a stroke on Monday.

The following obituary was read at the funeral:

"James Henry Robertson was born in Lawrence county, Ohio, April 28, 1839, departed this life March 31st, 1929, age 89 yrs. , 11 months and 2 days.

He was united in marriage to Mary A. Maulding March 1, 1868; to this union were born seven children, five girls and two boys. All the children survive except one - Amos Robertson who preceded him in death, forty-one years ago.

Suriving are : five daughters, Della Osborn, Bluford; Laura Shaw, Wayne City; Etta Johnson, Wayne City; Jennie Johnson, Opdyke, Annie Butler, Wwayne City; one son Johnnie Robertson, Wayne City; one sister, Mrs. Mary Henry, of Bluford.

His wife, Mary A., departed this life Nov. 28, 1910.

He enlisted in the Union Army in 1861 and served as a true soldier until peace was made in 1866. Having spent 85 years of his life in this neighborhood, it is needless to say or tell of his past life. He was a member of the Methodist church at Mt. Zion.

Funeral services were held at Salem, Monday, conducted by Eld. W. A. Mayberry and burial was made at cemetery nearby."
