Oliver Riley, 80 Dies Saturday; Rites Tomprrow

Oliver Riley, 80, a lifetime resident of Mt. Vernon, died at 6:45 p. m. at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He resided at 308 south 12th.

Mr. Riley worked for several years in the Mt Vernon street department.

He was born May 11, 1877 in Mt. Vernon, the son of James and Sarah (Ward) Riley.

He was married to Mary Prinnell, who preceded him in death April 14, 1949.

He is survived by three sons, Fred of Mt. Vernon, John of Ohio and Tony of Decatur, Ill., and three daughters, Mrs. Dora Nichols and Mrs. Lucille Schreck of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Edith Wood of Dix. He is also survived by one step-son, Jeffie McCoy of Mt. Vernon; one brother, John T. Riley and two sisters, Mrs. Lettie Burnette and Mrs. Anna Cooley, all of Mt. Vernon. Mr. Riley is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Myers Chapel at any time. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel with the Reverend Lester Pifer officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
