Winona Faye (Isom) Rightnowar

Winona Faye (Isom) Rightnowar, age 83, of Waltonville, died 7:36 a.m.Saturday, March 8, 2008, at her home in Waltonville.

Faye was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Waltonville, the daughter of Nelson and Inez (Green) Isom.

She married Merle Q. Rightnowar on March 1, 1943, in DeRidder, La.; he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2008.

Faye was a long time employee of the Security Bank and later Boatmans Bank, where she served as head teller and later as assistant cashier. She was of the Protestant faith. She and her husband enjoyed several activities such as golfing, fishing, boating and camping. Faye also enjoyed growing flowers and sewing. She was a long time member of VFW Post 9153 Ladies Auxiliary of Waltonville.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, with Pastor Tanner Green officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Faye is survived by one daughter, Jacque and husband Ray Gluss of Waltonville; one granddaughter, Tarra Gluss of Waltonville; and one greatgrandson, Ricky Chaput; two sisters, Evelyn and husband Bill Tolley of Mt. Vernon and Jean Ann Scroggins of Waltonville; one brother, Ralph Isom of Mt. Vernon; two brothers-in-law, Cyril Barton of Waltonville and Bill Rightnowar and wife Norma of Woodlawn; one sister-inlaw, Doris and husband Charlie Brown of Woodlawn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merle, parents, Nelson and Inez Isom; two brothers,Ulan Ray and Charles Dale Isom; two brothers-in-law, Harry Scroggins and Orval "Dude" Rightnowar and wife Idabel; one sisterin-law, Myreta Barton; mother and father-in-law, Adam and Minnie (Fairchild) Rightnowar; and great-great-nephew, Wayman Eastham.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Good Samaritan or Knob Prairie Cemetery and will be accepted at the Newell Funeral Home or may be mailed to Newell Funeral Home, 505 East Main Street, Waltonville, Ill.
