Jewel Rich, Mt. Vernon

Jewel L. Rich, 49, 1206 Main St., died at 3:35 a.m. May 31, 1986 at Crossroads Community Hospital.

Mr. Rich was born June 9, 1936 in Jefferson County, the son of Orville and Juanita [Taylor] Rich.

On Jan 25, 1955, at Mattoon IL , he married Audrey Bushong.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hughey Funeral Home with Rev. James F. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Rich and wife Shelly of Dix, and David Rich and wife Jeanette of Wilmington; three brothers, Robert Rich of Biloxi, Miss., James A. Rich of Las Vegas, Nev., and Larry Rich of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Mrs. Richard [Linda] Burwell of Mt. Vernon; five granddaughters, Jana, Julie, Lydia, Karen and Bekkah Rich; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rich was a construction worker and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elizabeth Rich.
