Mrs. Agnes Rector Dies at Age 72 Mrs. Agnes Rector, of 1001 south Sixth street, died at 1:15 a.m. today at Jefferson County Memorial hospital. her age was 72 years, seven months and three days. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Tabernacle, with the Rev. Ace Summers officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles Karch. A service will then be conducted at Union Chapel church and burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery.The body will remain at the osborn Funeral Home in Dix until 10 a.m. Thursday, then will be taken to the family home to remain until the funeral hour. Mrs. Rector was the daughter of Wendell and Mary Scheibley. On August 13, 1889 she was married to Orley Rector, who survives. She was a member of the Pentecostal church. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Alfred, George, Kelly and Irvin of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Bond of Bluford, Mrs. Edna Hickey of Greenville, ILL., and Mrs. Vaneta Pickett of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Yunker of Centralia, Mrs. Mary S. Green of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Kate Butcher of Iuka; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Alvis, three half-brothers and a half-sister.
