Joe Duane Prinnell

Joe D. Prinnell, 66, of 13596 Walnut St., Manito, passed a way at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Sept. 13, 1943, in Mt. Vernon to Roy E. and Laura E. Rogers Prinnell, he married June Wheeler on May 29, 1964, in Mt. Vernon. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tim Prinnell of Manito and Jeff Prinnell of Pekin; one daughter, Lee Ann Prinnell of Manito one grandson Ryan Scott Prinnell Ralston of Kickapoo; two brothers, Jack (Vickie) Prinnell and Donnie Prinnell, both of Mt. Vernon; two Sisters Thelma Buchanon of Opdyke and Ella Mae (Gary) Tolley of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

He worked of Precision National Rialroad in Mt. Vernon for 22 years. He then worked as a Machinist of the Pekin &Peoria Union Railway for 16 years.

He also worked for WACO Inc. until retiring in 2005.

He last worked in maintenance at the East Peoria Walmart IL.

He loved the outdoors, his family and his church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wood carving and bow hunting. He also enjoyed working on cars.

He was a member of McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin IL.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturaday; May 22, at McArthur Dive Baptist Church in North. The Rev. Boddy Barnhill will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin IL. Visitiation will be from 5 to 7p.m. Friday at the Church.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral & Crematory in Pekin IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4234 N.Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL, 61614.
