Donald Ray Pilson

CB radio enthusiasts were busy through the early morning hours relaying a call for type O- blood for Donald Pilson.

The hospital issued the call for the rare blood type, and the call was picked up and relayed by the CB'ers.

Through the night the call was transfered to surrounding towns, and a total of eight donors with the rare blood type reportedly were found. The CB blood call was launched by Jim "Medic" Hill.

Donald PILSON

A Friday night collision on Route 15 at the Jefferson-Wayne county line claimed its fourth life at 11:40 a.m. Saturday when Donald R. Pilson, 22, of Bonnie, died at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Pilson was one of four passengers fatally injured when their car, eastbound on Route 15, was struck by a car emerging from the county line road. The other three passengers - Charles E. Allen, 30, of Bonnie Kenneth C. Settle, 41, of Ina, and Harry L. Pierce, 38, of Belle Rive, were killed instantly.

Funeral services for Donald Pilson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Ina Funeral Home, with the Rev. Loy Shaw officiating. Burial will be in South Hickory Hill cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Pilson was born March 1, 1954, in Jefferson county,the son of Raymond and Imogene (Wilson) Pilson.

He is survived by his father; three brothers, Raymond Dale Pilson of Anson, Texas, George Robert Pilson of Bonnie, and Edwin Dwain Pilson of Bonnie; two sisters, Cheryl Pickett, and Donna Jean Ward both of Bonnie; and two grandmothers, Julia Pilson of Chicago and Velma Wilson of Bonnie.
