Delilah E. (Knight) Pigg

Mrs. Hardy Pigg Dies Yesterday; Funeral Friday

Mrs. Delilah E. Pigg, wife of Hardy Pigg of 916 North Sixth Street, died at four o'clock yesterday afternoon at Mt. Vernon Hospital. Her age was 69 years, six months and five days.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon at the Park Avenue Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Cyrus Maulding, who will be assisted by Rev. Bird Green, Rev. W. K. Sisk, pastor of the church, and Rev. A. L. Smith of Dix.

Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will be taken from the Osborn Funeral Home at Dix at eight o'clock tonight to the family home, 916 North Sixth Street where friends may call at any time up to the funeral hour.

Mrs. Pigg was the daughter of David Knight and Elizabeth Mays Knight. Over 50 years ago she was united in marriage to Hardy Pigg.

She was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church where the funeral services will be held.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Don Allen of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Homer Badgett of South Bend, Ind., Mrs. Alberta Bocox of Galesburg, Ill., and Mrs. Robert Parsh of Chicago; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

One daughter Mrs. Lena Artis preceded her in death in 1919.
