Susie Piercy Dies at 90: Has 228 Descendants

Mrs. Susie Piercy died at 9:30 pm. Tuesday at her home on RFD 2, Mt. Vernon, at the age of 90 years, eight months and one day.

Mrs. Piercy leaves 228 descendants.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at the Boyd Christian Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Ed Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix where friends may call after 4:00 pm Thursday.

Mrs. Piercy was born July 13, 1870 near Boyd, the daughter of William and Ann (Gardner) Fiser.

On July 3, 1887, at Boyd, she was married to Henry J. Piercy, who preceeds her in death Oct. 5, 1948. She was also preceded in death by four sons.

Survivors included one son, Walter Piercy of Mt. Vernon; eight daughters, Mrs. Ida Marlow, Mrs. Lena Carpenter and Mrs. Ada Harvey, all of Dix, Mrs. Fay Champ, Mrs. Nellie German and Mrs. Margaret Wegman, all of Woodlawn, and Mrs. May Harvey of Geneva, Ill.
