Donald I. Peterson Sr.

"PETE" PETERSON of Waterloo.

Donald I. PETERSON Sr. 65 of Waterloo, Iowa a former resident of Mt Vernon, was dead on arrival at 3:55 at St Clement Hospital in Red Bud.

He was an employee of the Smithton rubber roller plant.

Mr. PETERSON was born in Mt Vernon Il. 1 Dec. 1918 the son of Enos James and Elsie (GRISSOM) PETERSON.

He married Norma (KRAEMER) OHLENDORF, who survives.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Sat with Rev Laverne SOVA officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery in Smithton.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 PM. today and after 10:30 on Saturday at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include 1 son, Donald I. "Pete" PETERSON Jr. and wife Bonnie of Mt Vernon; 2 daughters Donna (Mrs. Jerrry BUMPUS) of Woodlawn and Darlene (Mrs. Roy COOLEY) of Mt Vernon; eight grandchildren; three ggrandchildren and two sisters Nata (PETERSON) WALL o f Mt Vernon and Doris (PETERSON) BROWN of Jacksonville, Fl.

Mr. PETERSON was a veteran of WWII, attended the old Eugene Field High School of Mt Vernon.

He was an Evangelical and member of the Smithton Volunteer Fire Dept.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one step son William KRAEMER and a brother Allen "Pete" PETERSON.
