William Pearce

Funeral services for William H. Pearce, 66, Route 1, Woodlawn, will be held at 2 pm. Tuesday at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Ashley with the Rev. Denny Steed officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows-Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call prior to the funeral hour Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Pearce, a retired employee of Wagner Electric in Mt. Vernon, died at 3:48 pm Friday in Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born in Arkansas, Nov. 11, 1917, the son of William and Pearl (Grimes) Pearce.

In September 1939, in Arkansas, he married Mona Pauline Sexton, who survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors includes two son, Dean Pearce of Maryland and Ronnie Pearce of St. Louis.; three daughters, Pearline Pepion of Kansas, Wanda Ferguson of Woodlawn and Donna Pearle of Belleville; one brother, Marvin Pearce of De Soto, Missouri; one sister, Alice Estes of Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

Mr. Pearce was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Woodlawn and the International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
