John O. Payne

John O. Payne, 65, resident of Manteno

John O. Payne, 65, former Mt. Vernon restaurant owner, died yesterday in Manteno, Ill., where he worked as an employe of the State hospital.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed today, but the body will lie in state at Myers chapel after 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Mr. Payne was born in Jefferson county on April 25, 1881. He was the son of Alonzo and Sarah Jane (Waite) Payne.

He is survived by his wife, the former Eunice Bryer.

Mr. Payne was a member of the A.F. and A.M. and Modern Woodmen of Mt. Vernon.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Milford Payne of Marion, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Cloyd Bolerjack of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Ross Whitney of Chicato; six sisters, Mrs. Cora Hutchison of Manteno, Mrs. Myrtle King and Mrs. Effie Auten of Aseqia, Idaho, Mrs. Cecil Summers and Mrs. Ethel Sexton of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Alice Wood of Opdyke.
