Floyd C. Payne

Floyd C. Payne, 75, of Ina, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. David Shores and Bro. Brad Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call after 10 a.m. and until the time of services Thursday at the church. Johnston Funeral Home of Ina is handling the arrangements.

He was born June 7, 1929, in Spring Garden, the son of Plummer and Ina (Fowler) Payne.

He married Dolores Hale on September 28, 1950, at the Ina Free Will Baptist Church, and she survives in Ina.

Mr. Payne was a farmer and had owned and operated a fertilizer and limestone business for many years. He was a member of the Ina Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Dolores Payne of Ina; five sons, Mark Payne and wife, Carol, of Bonnie, Kevin Payne and wife, Debbie, of Franklin, Tenn., Harlan Payne and wife, Susan, of Ina, Steven Payne and wife, Lori, of Ina, and Garret Payne and wife, Carmella, of Ina; three daughters, Karla Mizelle and husband, Clysal, of Chesapeake, Va., Dawana Broadway and husband, Myron, of Burnsville, Miss., and Anita Price and husband, Mike, of Statesboro, Ga.; 13 grandsons; 10 granddaughters; one great-grandson; three great-granddaughters; two brothers, Marvin Payne of Ina and Russell Payne and wife, Martha, of Ina; one sister, Donna Reynolds and husband, Jack, of Metropolis; a brother-in-law, Wayne Aldridge of Riverside; his stepmother, Helen Payne of Ina; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his parents, and by his youngest sister, Marian Deloris Aldridge.
