Mary Ida (Gibson) Palmer

Mrs Ida Palmer Passed Peacefully Away Thursday Night

Mrs. Mary Ida Palmer, daughter of Samuel and Angeline Gibson, was born Jan. 14, 1855, and died Nov. 24, 1904, at 11:30 a. m.

On May 20, 1877, she was married to Don Palmer, who died Sept. 18, 1885.

Three children blessed this union. Homer the oldest child, died June 27, 1896.

She leaves her two sons, Harry and Charles D., her father, two sisters and six brothers.

She was converted when she was a young lady and joined the Presbyterian church. Later, she united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Mt. Vernon. IL.

For many years before her death she was a patient sufferer, and, even when she realized that she would not get well, perfect confidence and trustful resignation characterized her and she passed away sweetly, sustained and soothed by the blessed thought that she was going home to be forever with her Savior and her loved ones who have already entered these shining portals.

Take us, dear Saviour,
May we all there unite,
Happy forever.”

The funeral services will be held at the Cumberland Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Nov. 26. Friends who wish to view the regains can do so at the residence, 708 North llth St., from 9 a.m. to 12 o'clock Saturday morning.
