Calvin "Lester" Page

Calvin "Lester" Page, 82, of Mt. Vernon died 2:50 a.m. Jan. 29, 2005, at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

He was a carpenter.

Mr. Page was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Ewing to John Obed and Vera Ellen (Monday) Page.

He married Neoma Adeline (Ferguson) Page Aug. 22, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.; she survives.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Randy Sells, Jamie Allen and J. Howard Kraps will officiate. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery near Ashley. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Page is survived by his wife, Neoma Adeline Page of Mt. Vernon; a son, Ronald A. Page and wife Linda of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Leslie Phillips and husband Randy of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Matthew A. Page of Indianapolis, Ind., and Justin S. Page of Mt. Vernon; a step-grandchild, Marinda Phillips of Jackson, Tenn.; a nephew, Gary Ferguson and wife Irene of Mt. Vernon; a niece, Joan Ferguson of Radom; and a sister-in-law, Helen Kirk of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Dennis E. Page; a nephew, Bill Ferguson; a brother-in-law, Wilfred Ferguson; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Ferguson.

Mr. Page was a member of Central Christian Church and Carpenters Local Union. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Brick Cemetery or Central Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt.
