Carrie E. (Bryan) Hirons Pace

Carrie E. Pace Dies At Age 86; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Carrie E. Pace died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. L. Burlison, 2414 Herbert street, at 5:25 o'clock this morning. Her age was 86 years, nine months and six days.

Funeral services will be held at the Waltonville Methodist church Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tucker officiating, and burial will follow in Knob Prairie cemetery, north of Waltonville. The body will lie in state at the Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville, where friends may call at any time up to the funeral hour.

Mrs. Pace was born in Ste. Genevieve county, Mo., the daughter of T homas Augustus Bryan and and Louisa (Griffith) Bryan.

On January 12, 1876 she was united in marriage with John Hirons and had resided near Waltonville since that time.

After Mr. Hirons' death in 1883, she was married to Samuel Thompson Pace, who preceded her in death in 1889.

Mrs. Pace had been a member of the Christian church for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nell Eden of St. Louis, Mo. and Mrs. C. L. Burlison of this city; a son, Samuel Thompson Pace of Matthews, Mo.; eight grandchildren adn two great grandchildren.

Two sons, Benjamin L. and Bryan Hirons preceded her in death. Mrs. Pace was the last member of a family of nine.
