Elmer Parke Outland

Elmer Parke OUTLAND, 80, died at his home in Bluford at 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

He was a retired employee of the Illinois Central Railroad. He had been a railroad carman for over 40 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bluford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray KELLEY and the Rev. Bob BROOKMAN officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Centralia. Friends may call at the funeral home, where the body will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Friday.

Mr. OUTLAND was a member of the First United Methodist church of Bluford and a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees.

He was born October 26, 1890 in Coloma, Indiana, the son of Edwin and Mary (HAWORTH) OUTLAND.

He was married to the former Cora RAINES, who preceded him in death.

He was later married in Odin to the former Huey DUE, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Hubert of Bluford; six daughters, Mrs. Eleanor FRITZ and Mrs. Eula FOSHEE, both of Rockford, Mrs. Pauline WILLIAMS of Bonnie, Mrs. Clara DONOHO of Bluford, Mrs. Omal WHALEN of Galesburg and Mrs. Evelyn SHIELDS of Belleville; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, two sons, and three brothers.
