Jack L. Oliver

Jack L. Oliver, 71, of Mt. Vernon died 12.49 p.m. June 17, 2005 at his home.

He was retired owner operator of United Service Company, specializing in air conditioning and refrigeration work.

Mr. Oliver was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Mt. Vernon to Fred J. and Dorothy P. (Hall) Oliver.

On March 13, 1955 he married Jane Tregoning in Salem; she survives.

No public visitation or services will be held. Mr. Oliver requested that his body be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife, Jane Oliver of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Dot Ohlhausen and husband George of Medford, Ore., Diane Smith of Mt. Vernon, and Kathy Meeks of Opdyke; two sons, Fred J. Oliver of Bedford, Mass. and Jack Oliver Jr. and wife Rhonda of Mt. Vernon; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brothers Ray Oliver and wife Rose and Richard Oliver, all of Mt. Vernon; Sister Betty High of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son , Thomas L. Oliver; a brother, Fred Edward Oliver; two sisters, Wilma Wangler and Marjorie Rutherford; and a grandchild, Jack Oliver.

Mr. Oliver served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
