Raymond Lee Nadolski

Raymond Lee Nadolski, 65, of Scheller, died May 18, 2004 at 4:53 p.m. at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center..

He was born in Dix on July 15, 1938 to Leo and Ruth (Rash) Nadolski.

He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Joe Bob and Mae (Hicks) Nadolski.

He married Shirley Frisch in Scheller on October 5, 1957. His wife, Shirley, survives him.

Four children, Cynthia Bevis and husband Patrick of Scheller, Deborah Schubert and husband Jeff of Scheller, Anita Duff and husband Bill of DuQuoin, and Randall Nadolski of Scheller. Grandchildren, Tiffany (Arnett) and husband, Lance Delaney, Toni (Arnett) and husband, Eddie Bernard, Brittany Duff, Elliot Duff, Barry Duff, Dena (Duff) Book and husband, John, Blake Bernard, Courtney Nadolski, Kylie Nadolski, RayAnn Nadolski. Expecting twin Schubert grandsons. Great-Grandchildren, Rebekka and Joseff Delaney, Bayli Duff and Jonathon Book. Brothers, Lawrence and wife Judy Nadolski of Woodlawn, James Nadolski and special friend Catherine Johnson of Salem, and Irvin Nadolski of Mt. Vernon. Uncle, Clyde Nadolski of Mt. Vernon. Mother-in-law Marie Frisch, Scheller. Brothers-in-law, Bob and Linda Frisch, Scheller, Rudy and Beverly Frisch, Scheller. Sister-in-law, Pat and Raymond Stanowski, DuBois. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Adolph Frisch, aunt and uncle Mae and Joe Bob Nadolski, uncle, Louie Nadolski.

Raymond loves antique cars, playing pinochle, collecting junk and spoiling his grandchildren. He graduated from Waltonville High School 1957 and attended Rend Lake College. Previous member of Lunker Busters Bass Club and is a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. Raymond was Postmaster for 38 years at the Scheller Post Office. He belonged to the National Association of Postmasters, National Rifle Association, Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge # 819, Ashley Sportsman's Club, of which he was secretary for over 20 years.

He was owner/operator of Scheller Playhouse for 16 years.

He was the local correspondent for the Scheller News for the Mt. Vernon Register News, Centralia Sentinel, Nashville News.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Scheller with Fr. Bert Iffert, Fr. Von Deeke, and Msgr. Hyacinth Mazuchowski officiating. Burial was at St. Barbara's Cemetery in Scheller. Friends called from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville. Rosary was said at 8:00 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with Medical expenses. Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville was in charge of arrangements were you may call for further information at 279-7272.
