Helen D. (Swift) Myers

Helen D. Myers, 80, of Mt.Vernon died 12:10 a.m. Nov 9, 2000 at her home.

Mrs. Myers was owner and operator, with her husband, of Myers The Printer for 33 years until retirement.

She was born Nov. 12, 1919 in Mt.Vernon to Harry M. and Mary Jane [Farthing] Swift.

She married Lester C. 'Slim' Myers on April 30,1939.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday att the chapel at Mt.Vernon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tim Pate officiating. Burial will be at Mt.Vernon Memorial Gardens. Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the chapel on Saturday. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Marquis and husband Mike of Mt.Vernon; a son, David Myers and wife Connie of Evansville,Ind.; six grandchildren, Jayma Barbian and husband Bruce, Michael Peacock and wife Karen, Mark Peacock and wife Ann, Nick Myers, Jeffrey Peacock, Shea Laury and husband Charlie; two stepgrandchildren, Barry Marquis and wife Sandy and Pam Ford and husband Rod; 16 great grandchildren, a sister, Martha Foster of Mt.Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Myers was a member of West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church, White Shrine of Jerusalem 66, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 233 and was chairwoman of the Republican Party in Jefferson Co. for several years. She was also a member of Kids of the 30's, The Sewing Club and the Jefferson County Historical Society.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Michelle Myers.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
