Norma (Duncan) Mick

Norma J. Mick, 70, of Mt. Vernon died 11:20 a.m. Sept. 7, 1999, at St. Mary’s/Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Mick was employed both at the Kmart store in Wood River and the 3-D store in Mt. Vernon.

She was born June 23, 1929, in Mt. Vernon to Orval and Anna (Thomas) Duncan.

She married Norval C. Mick Sr. on Feb. 3, 1947. He survives.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Those attending the services are asked to go to the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens on Saturday afternoon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mick is survived by son Norval C. “Sonny” Mick Jr. and wife Melba of Mt. Vernon; daughter Sherry Davidson and husband William of Roxanna; four grandchildren, Stephanie Hutchison and husband Brian, Kristy Floyd and husband Craig, William Davidson III and wife JoAnn, and Anthony Carson Davidson and wife Barbie; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. Charles Duncan and wife Lou of Bartow, Ga., and Carl Duncan and wife Kay of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; four sisters, Helen Quinn of Seattle, Lois Shoemaker of Mt. Vernon, Fay Cherry and husband Hall of Mt. Vernon, and Nancy Cocagne and husband Tom of Villa Hills, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mick was a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents.
