David A. McReynolds, 82, of Mt. Vernon died 10:15 a.m. Oct. 25, 2004, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was a retired steel mill worker. Mr. McReynolds was born June 5, 1922, in Du Quoin to Major and Inez (Long) McReynolds.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church. The Rev. Lawrence James will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Mr. McReynolds is survived by sons David McReynolds Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind., and Zachrey McReynolds of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Rita Stanford of California; several grandchildren; sisters Miriam Bryant of Milwaukee, Wis., and Helen Harpole of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Mr. McReynolds was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and Forest of Lebanon Lodge 71.
