James Mannen Dies At Daughter's Home 8 P.M. Wednesday

James Mannen, member of a family long prominent in Jefferson county, died last night at the home of this daughter, Mrs. Charles Sigworth, in Waltonville. He would have been 60 years old had he lived until July 4.

Mr. Mannen had been in impaired health for several years, but was able to visit the Waltonville business district yesterday afternoon. Returning home, he worked awhile in the garden and then went to the house to rest. About six p.m. Mrs. Sigworth found him unconscious and summoned a physician. Death occurred two hours later.

Mr. Mannen was born in Jefferson county and spent his entire life here, engaging in farming during the active years of his life.

He was a member of the Universalist church at Waltonville.

He is survived by one daugther, Mrs. Sigworth; three sons, Robert Mannen of Decatur, Hugh Mannen at home and Harry Mannen of Louisville, Ky; three brothers, Ira Mannen of Waltonville and L. E. and Roy Mannen, both of Mt. Vernon; and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Wray, Creighton, Neb.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
