A. J. (Aloysius) "OP" Lueke

A. J. (Aloysius) "OP" Lueke, 90, of McLeansboro died 3:15 PM Feb. 3, 2005, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Lueke was born Nov 6, 1814, in Aviston to John and Elizabeth (Baer) Lueke.

He married Emily Margaret (Roesch) Lueke Jan 4, 1938, in Piopolis; she died Oct 17, 1984.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. Monsignor Joseph Lawler will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery in Piopolis.

Mr. Lueke is survived by a son, Don Lueke and wife Betty of Dahlgren; two daughters, Betty Reyling and husband Charlie of Dahlgren and Schoerle Kaiser and husband Richard of Evansville, Ind., 14 grandchildren, Deborah Crowder of Hendersonville, Tenn., Pamela Rountree of Hendersonville, Tenn., Brenda Woodard of Hendersonville, Tenn., Cindy Cravens of Dahlgren, Kathy Brookman of Bluford, Donetta Hosick of Norris City, Donald Eugene Lueke, Jr., McLeansboro, Terri DelGenio of Naperville, Justin Kaiser of Oakland City, Randy S. Reyling of Dahlgren, Tina Wodicker of Dahlgren, Nathan Reyling Dahlgren, Lyndi Lueke of Waterloo and Matthew Lueke of Dahlgren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Roesch of Dahlgren; and a brother, Fred "Fritz" Lueke of Carmi; a grandson, Daniel Kaiser: and a brother, Anton Lueke.

Mr. Lueke was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. He loved farming, gardening and fishing.
