James Adney Lisenby

Died Saturday Night; Buried at East Salem Today

J. W. Lisenby, (NOTE: This should read J. A. Lisenby), one of Mt. Vernon township’s highly respected citizens, died Saturday night at the home of his daughter, Mts. R. W. King in Mt. Vernon. His age was 73 years and four months.

Mr. Lisenby is survived by three daughters and three sons and a sister. The children are; Mrs. Alma Yearwood, W. A. Lisenby, Orley Lisenby, Frank Lisenby, Mrs. R. W. King and Mrs. Stella Humphrey, Mt. Vernon, and Arthur Lisenby of Genoa, Ill. The sister is Mrs. Belle Harlow of Mt. Vernon.

He had been a member of the East Salem Baptist church since boyhood and funeral services were conducted in that place this morning at 11 o’clock, Rev. Cyrus Maulding officiating.

Burial was had at the nearby cemetery.
