Ed L. Liebengood

ED LIEBENGOOD, RETIRED CAFE OWNER, IS DEAD

Ed L. Liebengood, retired restaurant operator and a lifetime resident of this city, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday at his home, 419 Main street. His age was 76 years, none months and one day.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. M.A. Souers, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Myers Chapel and burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call.

Mr. Liebengood operated the Southern Cafe here for 48 years before his retirement from business.

He was born July 3, 1865, in Mt. Vernon township, the son of John and Margarete Klee Liebengood.

On September 24, 1890, he was united in marriage with Anna H. Sullivan, who survives.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one son. V.K. Liebengood of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Hutchison of Mt. Vernon; and two grandchildren.
