Eunice (Dare) Legg

Eunice Legg, 75 Former Resident; Dies in Oregon

Mrs. Eunice Legg, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday in Roseburg, Oregon, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and seven days.

The body will be returned to Mt. Vernon for funeral services, which will be held Friday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Second Baptist church. The Rev. Sam McCoy and the Rev. Tellis Young will officiate and burial will be in West Salem cemetery.

Friends may call at Myers Chapel after 4:00 p.m. Thursday. At 9:00 a.m. Friday the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Legg was born August 25, 1882 in Jefferson county, the daughter of William and Belle (McLaughlin) Dare. She had resided in Oregon for the past six years.

She was married to Charles Legg, who preceded her in death in 1920.

She is survived by one son, Howard of Orchard, Mo; one daugher, Florence Hahn of Roseburg, Oregon; one brother John Dare of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Raymond Knox of Mt. Vernon; and four grandchildren.
