F. M. Knowles

F. M. KNOWLES, DIED SATURDAY AT THE AGE OF 91

F. M. KNOWLES, one of the oldest men in the county died at his home on East third St. about 1 a.m. Saturday.

He was born I Spring Garden Township, September 1, 1848 and was 91 years, two months and 10 days of age.

His father was Wiley KNOWLES, a pioneer resident of this section.

Growing to manhood, he married Florence SMITH who died in 1897.

He settled on a farm in this township and took great pride in keeping its improvements up to high standard of efficiency. He also took great interest ins tock raising and usually kept a number of high grade horses.

Four children survive his first marriage; Mrs. Eliza SETTLE of Ina, Mrs Florence ADAMS of Bonnie, Allison KNOWLES of Bunkie, La. and Hearl KNOWLES of Bonnie.

His last marriage was to Lotta LUNSFORD, who survives him. One daughter survives this marriage; Mrs. Lottie CORBETT.

Some fifteen years ago, Uncle Frank retired from the farm and moved to Ina. He was fair in his dealings and prompt in the fulfillments of his obligations. Being honest himself was always ready to trust others and sometimes the victim of unscrupulous characters who took advantage of the trust he imposed in them.

Funeral services will be at the Ina C. P. Church at 1 p.m. Monday with Rev. W. R. SPURLOCK in charge and Burial will follow in Knowles Cemetery.
