Clarence E. Knight, 91, Route 1, died 2 p.m., Sept. 27, 1991, at Mt. Vernon Care Center.

Mr. Knight was a retired construction worker.

He was born Sept. 19, 1900, in Jefferson County, a son of Thomas Ewing Knight and Martha Jane (Belt) Knight.

July 14, 1930, at Benton, he married Thelma Ruth Chambliss, who died June 15, 1968.

April 4, 1976, he married Alta Glenn, who died March 31, 1978.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Old Union Cemetery with J. Howard Kraps officiating. Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home.

Mr. Knight is survived by one son, Neil Duane (Eva Lee Sinks) Knight of Creal Springs; one daughter Barbara (Herbert) Denham of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Knight was a member of Laborers Local Union 1136 for several years.

In addition to two wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son Marvin Lee Knight; one daughter Rita LaVonne Knight; and one step-son, Noel Dean Chambliss.
