Billy L. Kirkpatrick Sr.

Billy L. Kirkpatrick Sr., 72, of Mt. Vernon, died 9:49 a.m. Dec. 31, 2004, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Franklin County to Ivan and Geneva (Bennett) Kirkpatrick.

On June 1, 1956, he married Frances (Karch) Kirkpatrick in Mt. Vernon; she survives.

He first worked at Gaunt’s TV for 20 years and then operated his own television repair service, Bill’s Television Service, until retirement. Mr. Kirkpatrick served in the U.S. Army.

Services were set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home. Pastors Junior Karch, Jeff Bond, Jerry Pascarilla and Dwain Huston were to officiate. Burial was to be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Survivors include wife Frances Kirkpatrick of Mt. Vernon; sons Billy Kirkpatrick Jr. and wife Linda of Mt. Vernon and Tony Kirkpatrick and wife Pam of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Tony Kirkpatrick Jr. and fiancee Tabatha Ellis of Mt. Vernon, Jordan Lee Kirkpatrick of Mt. Vernon, Bethany Kirkpatrick of Mt. Vernon and Moriah Kirkpatrick of Mt. Vernon; brother Tom Kirkpatrick and wife Flo of Johnston City; sisters Joann Clarke and husband Gene of De Soto and Iva Jean White of Sesser; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Billy was a member of Summersville Pentecostal Church and also served on the church board. He loved his grandchildren very much, and also enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandsons and thought his granddaughters were the most beautiful girls anywhere!
