Neal D. Kirby, 64, of Nason, Illinois died 10:45 p.m. Friday June 6, 2008, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Neal was born July 15, 1943 in Calhoun, GA. the son of Leonard Neal and Lois (Denny) Kirby.

He married Ruth Cochran on December 14, 1963 in Kankakee, IL. and she survives.

He was a retired teamster of Local 710 and was a wonderful husband, excellent father, and a perfect “Pawpaw”.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Kirby of Nason, Illinois; one son, Wayne Kirby & wife Jackie and one daughter, Lisa and husband Jim Stewart all of Nason, IL. One brother, Jerry Kirby & wife Linda of Scotts Hill, TN. and one sister, Delores Northcutt of Atlanta, Ga. Three grand children, Zack Holtz, Coty and Scottie Stewart. Many beloved family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Pearl Kirby.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Brother Jesse Alan officiating. Interment will follow at Abner Cemetery in Nason. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IL.
