Nelle V. King, 104, Jeffersonian Nursing Home and formerly of 213 S. Second St., died at 8:05 p.m. Jan. 22, 1989, at the nursing home.

Mrs. King was born Aug. 5, 1884, in Jefferson County, a daughter of James A. and Flora (Short) Lisenby.

July 25, 1923, she married Richard King, who died Feb. 2, 1965.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home with Mike Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in East Salem Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. King is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Isabel) Gaunt of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Joe Gaunt Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Woodlawn and Mrs. Norman (Phyllis) Murphy of Mt. Vernon; six great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. King was a member of Meadowbrook Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Pauline; two infant sons; four brothers; and two sisters.
