Larry Wayne King, 46, of Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at his residence.

He was born on August 23, 1960, in Mt. Vernon, the son of James B. King and wife Carol and Kay (Hoffman) King.

He married Holly (Wade) King on June 1, 2006, in Mt. Vernon, and she survives.

Mr. King was captain of the Mt. Vernon Fire Department until he became disabled in July of 1999.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt.Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home.

Surviving family members include his wife: Holly King of Mt.Vernon; parents: James B. King and wife Carol of Baltimore, MD and mother: Kay (Hoffman) King of Mt. Vernon; two sons: Larry Alan King and wife Katrina of Mt. Vernon and Jesse King of Bluford; daughter: Amy King of Centralia; four stepdaughters: Trisha Heil and husband John, Amanda, Denise and Carla Jo Moussette all of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; three brothers: Gary King and wife Cecelia of Opdyke, J.R. King and wife Debbie of Mt. Vernon and Ricky King and wife April of Mt. Vernon; two sisters: Rosemary Hendley of Lubbock, Texas and herry Butler and husband Kenneth of Vienna; and several nieces and nephews.
