Selma Ethel (Marlow) Riemenschneider Thompson Kelley

Selma E. Kelley, 95, of Marshallton, died Monday evening June 11, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center of natural causes.

Funeral services were held Thursday June 13, at St Paul's Lutheran church in State Center with the Revrend R D Ehlers officiating. Burial followed in Hillside cemetery. Honorary Bearers were Dick Carter and Ralph Pfantz. Casket bearers were Bob Titus, Verne Pfantz, Arnold Papenberg, David, Scott and Mike Riemenschneider. The Wensel-Perrin Funeral Home in State Center was in charge of arrangements, and memorials may be given to the St Paul Lutheran church.

Born January 23, 1895 at Marlow, Il, Mrs Kelley was the daughter of Steven and Emma C Bruce Marlow.

She received her education in the area of her birth and moved to the State Center area at an early age.

She was a Red Cross Volunteer during World War I.

She was married to Walter Riemenschneider and he died in 1932.

She later married Ben Kelley and he preceded her in death in April of 1979.

Mrs Kelley was a member of the St Paul Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death was an infant son, a great grandchild, three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are two sons: Bill Riemenschneider of Marshalltown and Howard Riemenschneider of State Center; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a brother, Keith Marlow of South San Francisco, CA.
