Venita B. (Whitlock) Karch

Venita B. Karch, 73, died at 8:35 P.M. Oct. 7, 1986, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mrs. Karch operated Mary Jane Studio with her husband for 35 years.

She was born July 19, 1913, In Texico, Ill, the daughter of H. A. and Lola (Hawkins) Whitlock.

On March 6, 1930, in Mt. Vernon, she married Clifford R. Karch, who survives.

The first funeral is scheduled for 1:30 PM Friday at Central Christian Church with J. Howard Kraps officiating. The Varnell Rebekah Lodge will also conduct services at this time. Following the services in Mt. Vernon, a second funeral will follow at Antioch Christian Church near Dix with Bob Raver officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Friends may call at Hughey Funeral Home from 5 to 8:30 PM Thursday and until 11 AM Friday. The body will then be moved to the Central Christian Church, where friends may call from 12:30 PM until the funeral hour.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Karch is survived by her mother; one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Pat) Phillips of Pekin, IL; one son, Clifford A. Karch and wife of Larkspur, Colorado; one brother, William A. Whitlock of Cape Girardeau, MO; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Karch was a member and Past Noble Grand of Varnel Rebekah Lodge, No. 296 of Mt. Vernon. She also held many offices in the lodge. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was also a member of the Sunshine Center.

Mrs. Karch was preceded in death by her father.
