Rites Held For Sarah Jordan, 96, Here Yesterday

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Jordan, of 239 south 15th street, were held Sunday at 3:00 pm at the Pulley Funeral Home.

The services were conducted by the Rev. Bayne D. Wilson and burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Jordan died at 8:15 pm Friday at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital at the age of 96 years, nine months and five days.

She was born August 13, 1854 in McLeansboro, the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Davis) Brook.

She was married in Mt. Vernon to clifford S. Jordan, who died August 19, 1942. Mr. Jordan was active in politics and held the office of justice of the peace here.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by a foster daughter, MRs. W. R> Good of St. Louis and one sister, Mrs. Tabetha Abelt of Flora.

She had been a member of the Methodist church since young womanhood.
