Obituaries

Alfonso Johnson

Al Johnson died of consumption at the home of his father-in-law, Charles Chastain, at 8 o'clock last night after being confined to his bed for two or three weeks.

Deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnson of Cottonwood, Ill., and was twenty eight years of age.

He was married about nine years ago to Miss Cora Chastain and leaves a wife and son, eight years old to mourn his death.

He contracted the disease, which ended his life, about two years ago, but its development was very slow and he was able to pursue his usual avocations until a few weeks ago, although he had been unwell all winter.

The funeral and interment will take place at 10:30 tomorrow morning at Hopewell. The obsequies will probably be conducted by Rev. J. C. Kinnison. His mother and father have been notified of his death and will arrive here this afternoon to attend the funeral.
