John Hughey

John HUGHEY, who observed his 71st birthday last Saturday, died at 9:15 o'clock this morning at his home in Belle Rive. He had been in ailing health of some time.

Funeral Service will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Belle Rive, conducted by the Rev. Bird GREEN and the Rev. SHAFFER and burial will follow in Flint Cemetery.

Mr. HUGHEY was the son of Dr. William A. HUGHEY and Lois SMITH HUGHEY, natives of Kentucky.

Dr. HUGHEY practiced in Belle Rive.

Mr. HUGHEY is survived by his wife; a son, G. E. HUGHEY of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Ben HUGHEY of Opdyke, six grandchildren and one great grand-daughter.

Four children preceded him in death. Frank HUGHEY, a son, was killed when he was 17 years old when struck by a train 32 years ago. A daughter, Mrs. Grace BUMPUS, died five years ago and a son and daughter, Roy and Kate, died in infancy.
