Florence Holmes, 54, of Dix, Dies; Rites Thursday

Florence May Holmes, of Dix died at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital last night at 7:30 at the age of 54 years, four months and four days.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Dix Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joe Harris of Mt. Vernon officiating, assisted by the Rev. Leo Mabry, the pastor.

Burial will be in Jordan Chapel cemetary, east of Dix. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, where friends may call at any time after 2:00 pm. Wednesday.

Miss Holmes was born in Jefferson County, the daughter of Charles S. and Caroline (Thompson) Holmes.

She was a member of the Dix Methodist Church.

Surviving are three brothers, Russell, Donald and Vernon Holmes, all of Centralia; four sisters, Mrs. Allie Carr of Crystal City, Mo., Mrs. Rugy Tranor and Mrs. Ruth Williams of Centralia and Mrs. Loadine Stueve of Roundup, Montana; and her stepmother, Mrs. Mary Holmes of Centralia.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
