A. Faye (Whitsell) Holloway

A. Faye Holloway, 75, of Mt. Vernon, passed away 2:07 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1932, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Raymond C. and Lillie Mae (Bayles) Whitsell.

She married Joe R. Holloway on March 4, 1950, in Mt. Vernon.

Faye was manager at Words Of Life Christian Book Store.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Wendell Garrison officiating. Interment will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Faye is survived by her husband, Joe R. Holloway of Mt. Vernon; three sons, Gary A. Holloway and wife Marsha of Mt. Vernon, Bruce R. Holloway and wife Barbara of Urbana, and Steven D. Holloway of Farmington, Maine; seven grandchildren, Tim Holloway and wife Rachel of Mt. Vernon, Andrea Wittenborn and husband Danny of Washington, D. C., Travis W. Holloway of Long Island, N. Y., Christine M. Holloway and fiancé Jeff Jakob of Champaign, Jessica Ann Holloway of Champaign, Bailey Holloway of Farmington, Maine, and Breanna Martin of Jay, Maine; two great grandsons, Brogan Issac Holloway of Mt. Vernon, and Brock Anderson Holloway, also of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Harold L. Whitsell and wife Naomi of Springfield; and a sister, Donna R. Young and husband Donnie of Huntsville, Ala. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her parents and one sister, Doris June Raney, preceded her in death.

Faye was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
