Dorothy M. Henry, 77, of Mt. Vernon, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Mt. Vernon Residential Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was born on May 1, 1930, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Ed Harrison and Stella (Jones) Harrison.

Dorothy married Mack Henry in Morganfield, KY on August 21, 1949. They were married for 53 years and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2002.

She worked at the Mt. Vernon Garment Factory for 28 years.

Funeral services will be held 10 am. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Merritt Strickland and the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons: Eddie Henry and wife Dawn of Mt. Vernon and Rickey Henry and wife Carla of Glenwood; a daughter, Pat Hickey and husband Charlie of Texico; eight grandchildren: Vickie Lee, Kimberly England, Jennifer Henry, Brandon Henry, Dustin Henry, Jacob Henry, Jillian Henry, and Ericka Henry; a great grandson: Peyton Michael Henry; brother: Oren Harrison and wife Maxine of Murphysboro; several nieces and nephews and dear friend Mae Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers: Jewell, Dwight and Bill Harrison and four sisters: Alita Wilson, Aline Wilson, Jamack Curry and Doris Stover.

Dorothy attended South Side Baptist Church, was an avid crafter, loving mother and grandmother.
