Rayburn M. Ray Hayes

Rayburn M. Ray Hayes, 78 of Route 6, Mount Vernon, died 1:45 pm, September 2, 1993 at Good Samartion Regional Health Center.

Mr. Hayes was a retired farmer and livestock dealer.

He was born April 18, 1915, in Ripley County, Missouri, a son of James and Hannah (Jarrett) Hayes.

August 10, 1935 in Mount Vernon, he married Louise (Minor) Hayes, who survives.

Services will be at 10 am Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Krumeich officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8pm today at Hughey Funeral Home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Frances Staley and husband Ivan of Mt. Vernon and Pat Staley and husband Bob of Texico. Three sons, Thomas Hayes and wife, Barbara, Larry Hayes and Rick Haye and wife, Vera all of Mt. Vernon. 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; three brothers, Steve Hayes and John Hayes both of Mt.Vernon and Clifford Hayes and wife, Lucille of Richmond, Michigan, one sister, Irene Heald Anson of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hayes was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and King City Saddle Club.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers.
