Harold DeWayne Hayes

Harold DeWayne Hayes, 54, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, in South Dakota.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, with the Rev. Fred Aten officiating. Burial will be in the Hams Grove Cemetery in Belle Rive. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Harold and Roberta (Friar) Hayes.

DeWayne was very talented with his hands and had worked many jobs as a carpenter, saw mill hand, truck driver and painter. He always helped anyone who needed him.

Survivors include his parents, Harold and Roberta Hayes; a sister, Robyn Hayes; nephews, Dylan and Eythan Pencakowski; grandmother, Goldie Friar, aunt, Alberta LaGrone; cousins, Janet Wells and family, Randy Casey and family, Rick Casey and family, Tammy Rehbock and family, and Tiffany Watts and family; dear friends, Madge Moon and Ed and Mary Fadziejewski; and many second and third cousins and friends.

His sister, Karyn Hayes, grandparents, Forrest and Carrie Hayes, grandfather, Jack Friar, and uncles, Floyd Hayes and Clyde Hayes preceded DeWayne in death.
