James K. Hawkins

James K. HAWKINS, 56 of Route 1 Ina died at 1:30 am this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was an employee of Inland Steel in Sesser.

Mr. HAWKINS was born in Vermillion County on September 5, 1927 a son of James Albert and Drusla Jane (KELLEY) HAWKINS and on June 15, 1946, in Bardwell, Kentucky, he married Martha Elizabeth SETTLE and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survives by one daughter, Shirley (Bruce) JOHNSTON of Ina, two sons, Rick HAWKINS of Mt. Vernon and Jim HAWKINS of Ina, two grandsons and two granddaughters; one sister Alene OWENS of Mt. Vernon and two brothers Everett PIERCE and Fred HAWKINS both of Ina.

Mr. HAWKINS was a Deacon and Trustee of the Ina Free Will Baptist Church, where services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, with Rev. David SHORES, officiating and burial in Kirk Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 pm Thursday to the funeral home.

He was a member of the Ina Ruritan Club.
