Kate M. Harvey, 99, Woodlawn, and late of Nature Trail Nursing Home
died, at 11:18 a.m. Jan. 29, 1987, at the nursing home.
Mrs. Harvey was born July 8, 1887, in Woodlawn, the daughter of
Robert and Martha (Troutt) Moore. In 1911, at Salem, she married
Thomas J. Harvey. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1949.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home and the
Rev. Gene Auxier will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Catherine Cemetery
north of Woodlawn.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harvey is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Dixon of Woodlawn;
two sons, George Harvey and wife Lucille of Mt. Vernon and Vance Harvey of Benton;
four grandchildren, James R. Harvey and Carolyn Rainey, both of Mt. Vernon,
Martha Melton of Iowa City, Iowa, and Bunny Moore of Gate City, Va., and
several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Harvey was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodlawn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Newt, Bill and
Bob Moore, one sister, Mabel “Cricket” Thomas, one daughter, Violet and three sons,
Tom, Leslie and Ernest.
