Cordia (Auston) Hands

Cordia Hands, 70, Wayne City, Dies

WAYNE CITY, Ill., Aug. 9.
Mrs. Cordia M. Hands, 70 died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday at her home here.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion church, with the Rev. Bird Green officiating, and burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery. The body will remain at the home, where friends may call.

Mrs. Hands was born near Wayne City March 5, 1878, the daughter of James and Delilah (Bond) Austin.

On March 7, 1899 she was married to W. H. Hands who survives. She was a member of the Keenes christian church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Bert of Wayne City, Hibbard of Peoria and William of Pana; three daughters, Mrs. Dewey Wood and Mrs. Bernie Solomon of Wayne City and Mrs. Kelley Rector of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Thomason of Keenes, Mrs. Ella Moore of Wayne City and Mrs. Meridan Stroud of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Frank Austin of Springfield; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
