Helen Hayes (Webber) Hammond

Helen HAYS HAMMOND, 84, of Goreville died 8 a.m. Jan. 27, 2004, at her home.

She was a former resident of Ina, having moved to Ina when she was 9 years old. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. HAMMOND was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Benton to David and Mattie (KIRK) WEBBER.

She married Dwight R. HAMMOND Nov. 20, 1945, in Mt. Vernon; he died Aug. 17, 2000.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. Dr. Ronald FERGUSON will officiate. Burial will follow at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina.

Mrs. HAMMOND is survived by a son, David HAMMOND and wife Mindy of Goreville, two grandsons, Sean HAMMOND and wife Tina of Jonesboro and Jason HAMMOND of Goreville; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Kari and Dylan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Howard HAYS and Dwight R. HAMMOND; six brothers, Jim, David Jr., Wallace, Neal, William and Buck WEBBER; and a sister, Pansy WEBBER NOBLE.

Mrs. HAMMOND was of the Christian faith.
