Melvadean (Jones) Hall

Melvadean Hall, 82, of Dix died 8 a.m. April 4, 2004, at her home. She worked in St.Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon in the housekeeping department.

Mrs. Hall was born Jan. 7, 1923 in Waltonville to Dire A. and Anna Elvira (Bravard) Jones.

She married Virgil F. Hall June 8, 1922, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He died May 10, 1998.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. The rev. Jesse Allen will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Garden Cemetery. Those attending the services are asked to go directly to the chapel on Wednesday afternoon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Hall is survived by three sons, Merle Hall and wife Barbara of Texico, Dean Hall and wife Diane of Mt. Vernon and Dale Hall and wife Alice of Centralia; a daughter Marline "Linda" Wooden and husband Jerry of Mt. Vernon;10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several step greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Harvey "Dick" Jones and wife Opal of Nason and Dire Jones Jr. and wife Sue of Nason; two sisters, Florence Dees and husband Edsel of Waltonville and Virginia Jones of Centralia; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,a granddaughter, Ann Marie Mezo; brothers Wilburn "Bill" Jones, Melvin Wayne Jones and Walter "Mutt" Jones; and a sister, Maxine Jones.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, where you may call 242-3348 for obituary information at any time.
